Senior Analyst, Oil and Gas
Job Description
- The Pembina Institute is seeking a senior analyst for our Oil and Gas Program based out of any one of our offices . Join our Oil and Gas team to further research and policy development to reduce emissions from the oil and gas sector.

- The senior analyst will provide research, strategic advice, qualitative and quantitative analysis, government relations, and fundraising support, closely working with stakeholders to advocate for decarbonization in the oil and gas sector.
- Key responsibilities include leading projects, conducting research, building relationships with stakeholders, advancing policies on emissions reduction, media engagements, planning government relations strategies, overseeing program activities, and more.
- The position requires a deep understanding of the oil and gas industry, Canadian climate policy, project management skills, research abilities, stakeholder engagement, and proficiency in quantitative analysis tools.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in sciences, business, economics, law, public policy, engineering, or related field. Master's degree considered a bonus.
- At least three years of relevant work experience in industry, government, or the not-for-profit sector.
- Advanced knowledge of quantitative analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel or ArcGIS.
Additional Assets
- Experience with energy or environmental policy advocacy and the policy-making process.
- Experience with media and external communications.
- Background in corporate sustainability, climate tech, or energy development.
Benefits
- Hiring range for the position is $73,542 to $84,048 annually based on a 37.5-hour work week with max range of $94,554. Individual pay determined by job-related skills, experience, education, and internal equity.
